Moving from Coshocton to New Concord
68 1/2 W Main St, New Concord, OH, 43762: Chapman's Coffee House
Taken by Carlye...again
For those of you who don't know me, I'm from Warsaw, Ohio in Coshocton County.
This past spring I graduated from River View High School, and this past fall I moved to New Concord to continue my education at Muskingum University.
Me being me, I knew I had to find the closest coffee shop as quickly as possible.
I had heard of Chapman's before moving to New Concord, but never realized just how close it is to the university.
I drove down before class one morning during my first week here and loved the Sweet Perk Latte I had got, along with the delicious apple cinnamon scone.
Still I was unaware of just how close this coffee shop is to Muskingum.
It wasn't until my second week here when I walked down the hill to get lunch with an old high school friend that I found out I can walk to Chapman's in seven minutes.
It has became a Monday tradition to get lunch with my dear friend Michael Belt after our class ends at noon.
Truthfully I owe my dying love for Chapman's to him, ha-ha!
Not only am I there on Monday's but a few times each week.
Sometimes to study, sometimes to hangout, and sometimes just to get rid of that caffeine withdrawal headache...ha!
Actually...I happen to be at Chapman's writing this!
You'd think with how often I go to Chapman's that I would've been able to try every drink twice by now, but truthfully I found what I like and don't like right off the bat.
The first thing I ever tried was the Sweet Perk latte (caramel, vanilla, cinnamon) as mentioned before, and that remains my favorite iced latte.
I'm a sucker for Chai of course, and earlier this month I had an Apple Pie Chai and Pumpkin Chai, both hot and both to die for.
Currently as I write this, I'm sipping on my favorite hot drink...a Bonfire Latte (mocha, caramel, marshmallow, vanilla).
As for the food, I've never had something I didn't find delicious.
I always get an apple cinnamon scone, and I go back and forth between grilled cheese and the turkey bacon wrap.
~PRESENTATION~ ✰✰✰✰
Something I value a lot about every coffee shop is the sleeve I get on my drink.
I go to Chapman's so often that I decided to save every sleeve I get, but sometimes I don't get one and that means my ongoing 44 count is not accurate...ha-ha! Their stamped logo is simple, but sometimes simplicity is key.
~COFFEE SHOP VIBE~ ✰✰✰✰✰
The atmosphere of Chapman's is always welcoming and friendly.
It's the perfect place to study, the perfect place to hangout, and the perfect place to quench your coffee craving.
Granted the shop is within walking distance of a college campus, it gets crowded sometimes.
But, the staff always remains friendly and kind and I appreciate that about them!
Garrett, the owner, always asks how I'm doing and is always radiating an upbeat vibe, and his employees shadow that.
~SUMMARY~
I'm happy to call Chapman's my current go-to. I may be slightly addicted, but just think...being a college student, there are worse things I could be addicted to, ha-ha! Anyways, if you're ever looking for a reason to see what New Concord has to offer, make sure you stop by Chapman's and support a local business!
