A Day in German Village ☕️

Sunday Spent Downtown

627 S 3rd St #1060, Columbus, OH, 43206: Stauf's

Taken by my new college coffee friend, Emma :)

This past Sunday I took a trip with my friend Emma to Columbus. We went to First Watch for some food, where we had delicious pumpkin spice pancakes and just as delicious iced coffee. This was my first visit to First Watch, but not my last!

After we ate our brunch and drank our coffee, we went for more coffee of course, ha-ha! A few weeks ago Emma introduced me to the Columbus Coffee Experience, and Stauf's in German Village was my first stop of fourteen.

Since this is a chain, I've decided not to include the history. I still will include a link to Stauf's website, and of course my review.

~FLAVOR~ ✰✰✰

For the first time ever, I didn't look up the menu before visiting this coffee shop (look Mom, I'm growing up...ha-ha!) However, I slightly regret that now. When I walked up to order I panicked and got a cold brew, which is something I've only liked from one other coffee shop, and it ended up being subpar to my standards. BUT, I got back in line and ordered their fall drink special..."chaider" an apple cider and chai drink. That blend was literally one of the most delicious drinks I have ever had.

Apple cider + chai = HEAVEN

~PRESENTATION~ ✰✰✰

There was nothing too fancy about the cups at Stauf's. Like you see above, my drink was written on my cup, but there was no sleeve for me to put on my bulletin board. The hot drinks seemed to have sleeves, but I didn't see them on any cold ones which makes sense. However, in their store they had reusable sleeves that said Stauf's on them and I thought that was really neat.

~COFFEE SHOP VIBE~ ✰✰✰✰

The order process at this coffee shop was not traditional, but it was creative (COVID-19 regulations). Rather than walking into a building and sitting down to enjoy your coffee, everything was outside based. The line was outside and one person / group went in at a time to order, and then picked up their drink at another building adjacent to the order building. There were a few tables outside to sit and enjoy your drink, but if those tables are taken, third street in general is SO beautiful. Stauf's is located right by a book loft, and there were lots of pretty flowers everywhere (as you can see in the first picture). Visiting here was a nice little weekend get away from college, and I'm glad Emma came along!

Meet Emma!

~SUMMARY~

Although my cold brew was not as good as I had hoped, my "chaider" and quality time with Emma made my Sunday so wonderful. I think this Stauf's is located in such a cute area, and it would be a fun place to hang out if I lived closer. I'm looking forward to visiting the other three Stauf's on the Columbus Coffee Experience's list, and I hope some of my coffee lovers give it a try!
