Becoming A Coffee Lover ☕️

How I grew to love coffeeshops...

Follow me to all the coffeeshops I go to!

This is me, Kailyn, at my all time favorite coffee shop, Happy Bean! (Mount Vernon, OH)

You know the saying, "All it takes is a shove in the right direction . . ." That's all it took to become the coffee lover I am.

I was never really a coffee drinker before my freshman year of high school. I drank the occasional pumpkin spice and peppermint mocha latte during the holiday seasons, but nothing anymore fancy than that. Had you said “espresso” or “americano” to me then, I would’ve looked at you as if you were speaking a different language . . . (I guess you technically are, but you know what I mean, ha-ha!)

When I started my freshman year, I met my friend Kimberly, fellow coffee lover. We went to our local Tim Horton’s a few times and I always stuck to my large sweet tea with extra ice. However, she would get a vanilla iced coffee. One day I decided to try it, and I immediately fell in love. Thanks to her, I have become the coffee enthusiast I am . . . here's how:

Kimberly invited me to go to a coffee shop in Berlin, Ohio, not too far away from our hometown of Coshocton. She claimed they had the best vanilla iced coffee she has ever had. We went to East Main Kitchen and as I was sitting in there I was attracted to so many things. The cute cups, the unique inside layout, the delicious coffee and pastries, and of course the friendly service.

As we sat there we started to think about how this coffee shop compared to our hometown’s coffee shops and how much fun it was to experience this new one. We started looking at other local coffee shops in towns near us, and we started making a list of all the ones we wanted to visit.

I've now been to sixteen different coffee shops, fourteen of which Kimberly has gone with me to. I’ve tried many good different kinds of coffee, and a few not so good kinds of coffee, and I’ve found what I like and I’ve expanded my love for visiting new coffee shops. Documenting all the shops I go to in a blog format has always been something I've wanted to do, and all it took was being assigned a blogging assignment in my computer science class, ha-ha!

Here Kimberly and I are at our biggest adventure...driving 732 miles to drink good coffee! (Fluid Coffee Bar, Valparaiso, Indiana)

So, follow me on this exciting adventure of backtracking all the coffee shops I've been to, and documenting all the ones I am yet to visit! :)
