A Weekend Back Home ☕️

 Coffee in Coshocton County

750 S 2nd St, Coshocton, OH, 43812: Coshocton Coffee Connection

This past Saturday I visited my parents, my dogs, and on of my home county's coffee shops...with Carlye of course!

While I love my current study spot, Chapman's, as I mentioned in my last blog, it was nice to visit the coffee shop I spent a majority of my senior year busting out philosophy papers, stats problems, and college applications. All while sipping on a frozen chai and eating a brown sugar scone :).

Coshocton Coffee Connection is one of two local coffee shops where I'm from.

~HISTORY~

Coshocton Coffee Connection opened in the summer of 2017, and I went there for the first time in 2019. I could not tell you why it took me two years to visit a local coffee shop, but once I visited once I spent a majority of my morning there between my college classes and my high school classes. There were times I waited awhile for my order to be up, but the comfy atmosphere made the wait more bearable.

~FLAVOR~ ✰✰✰

When you have the same thing over and over, it starts to taste dull. For me, I rotated between two drinks at Coffee Connection and tried something new one day and it tasted like the other two. I started getting tea after that to refresh my taste buds, and eventually my frozen chai was tasting good again. My brown sugar scones were always delicious. If it wasn't unhealthy, I would live off of them, ha-ha!

~PRESENTATION~ ✰✰✰

Coffee Connection is another coffee shop that only does sleeves on hot drinks, so I don't think I have ever received one because I am quite the iced coffee person. However, their sleeves are pretty neat, and perhaps someday I will order a hot drink solely for the sleeve to be put on my bulletin board.

~COFFEE SHOP VIBE~ ✰✰✰✰✰

Sitting in Coffee Connection was something I did four or five days a week for two or three hours at a time. I enjoy sitting in the window seat and using the natural light to keep myself engaged. Something interesting about this coffee shop is the primary use of red. Typically red is a downgrading color in my opinion, but at Coffee Connection the red pops and just ties the subtle, down low vibe.

~SUMMARY~

Being back in town on Saturday made me a little nostalgic thinking about all the emotions I went through and work I got done sitting in that seat. There have been a few Friday mornings when I consider making the quick half an hour drive to mix it up from getting Chapman's. I've had a few friends who work at Coffee Connection and going there and seeing their smiling faces was always something I looked forward to during senior year. I'm sure I will be at Coffee Connection over break quite a bit here in a few weeks :).
